These photos were taken TWO days after Remington's leg was removed. He was unbelievable happy, healthy and spry! He honestly seemed relieved and did not have any problem running around with three legs! It will be a while before he is available for adoption, but we desperately need funds for his recovery. His care will cost about $2,000, and in order to continue to save pets like Remington, we need to replace those funds immediately. If you can take a moment and donate something for Remington and future sick and injured animals, we would greatly appreciate it. Remington is a true inspiration to animals and humans alike and we should all learn a little from his amazing strength and will to live!
Please take a moment to read Remington's INCREDIBLE story!

Miraculously, the bullet in his chest did not hit any vital organs. (which is virtually impossible). The bullet in his leg fractured his kneecap, which obviously was the cause of his pain and the reason that he did not use his leg at all. Sadly, his leg could not be fixed and it had to be amputated. Now remember, this trauma occurred in JANUARY. This brave and wonderful dog walked around with TWO bullets in his body for 9 months!
Remington came to Pet Pal in September. His leg was horribly damaged and he was not using it at all. Despite his hobbling and pain, his spirit and demeanor was incredible! He was playful and everyone at the shelter immediately fell in love with this beautiful 1 year old Boxer.
We were told that his "trauma" occurred in January. After seeing many dogs with injuries similar to Remington's, we assumed that he had been hit by a car. He was sent to Oakhurst Animal Hospital for full body xrays, and we were astonished by the results! His films showed not one, but TWO bullets in his body. One in his chest and one in his leg!
